Our story

Since 2009

Café Larue et fils first opened in Montreal's Villeray district in 2009. It was the exciting project of two entrepreneurs who wanted to open their own social club around a good cup of coffee.

From the moment it opened on Rue Castelnau, this neighborhood café attracted the attention of passers-by, the same people who still come in today to get their daily dose of caffeine. The first weeks turned into months, years; this café has seen the birth of friendships, couples and families.

With growing commitment, the Larue family opened a new branch in 2013 on Jarry Street. These two locations have weathered the trials and tribulations and, above all, have always served the people of the neighbourhood tirelessly in order to bring comfort and happiness to those who needed it. Naturally, the story continues when in 2017, a third door bearing the logo opened on Saint-Zotique Street.

Roasting

It was in 2019 that fateful moment when Café Larue finally decided to get its hands dirty and began roasting its own coffee. From now on, it was possible to conscientiously choose the best product to offer to our customers, our friends and our family.

Conscientious Coffee

Café Larue obviously aims for conscientious coffee, respectful of all the actors involved in its production, from the farm to the cup. What makes us worthwhile is not only our passion for coffee, but also our enthusiasm and loyalty to our customers.

For us, there is no coffee without a customer and no customer without coffee. That is why our vision is not only interested in where the coffee comes from, but also in who benefits from it.
